Learning Journal | Nearsoft Academy | 1st Month — Reset Phase
September 28th — October 26th
Hello! 👋 I’m being part of the Nearsoft Academy program for one month. This is a space to learn, practice, and grow. I’ve been posting every week, all about the topics I’ve learned during this adventure. This time I’ll talk about what I learned during the whole month.
I’m a visual and kinesthetic person, so you will see a lot of sketch notes here, I hope you enjoy them, and also, feel free to share if this post was useful for you.
This month, I read 2 books: Make It Stick by Peter C Brown, Mark A. McDaniel, Henry L. Roediger III, Ego Is The Enemy by Ryan Holiday. And also I took the Learning How To Learn course.
I want to resume what I learned in some bullet points:
- Get focus in small parts of time to avoid procastination
- Take breaks while learning
- Practice makes permannet.
- Sleep good
- Chunking, relate small concepts
- Test yourself, what do you suppose yo learn?
- Mastery related things
- Explain concepts in simple words
- Believe in yourself
- Be a mentor and have mentees
- Be realistic, stop inventing stories, take action. Make ideas happen!
- Keep learning, be always a student
- Don’t let passion blinds you
- Take the good from the bad, and continue your journey. Get feedback
- Find your path, why do you do what you do?
- Don’t compare yourself with others
But definitely durgin this whole month i’ve learned a lot about one specific thing, not just in there I put it in practice: Communication.
- Ask questions
- Share what is happening with your team
- Negotiate what is the best for the project, for your team and for you.
- Propose new ideas
- Don’t be afraid of talk.
What we have assigned to do during this month, just make sense, writing down and explaining concepts in our own words, make us learn easily and in a better way.
It has been a busy month but I got a lot of useful things to improve my learning skills.
